FMCS (Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme)
FMCS is a certification scheme for foreign manufacturers who want to obtain BIS certification to sell their products in India. This involves inspections, audits, and compliance verification with Indian standards.
ISI Registration under BIS FMCS
The ISI mark (BIS mark) signifies product conformity to Indian standards. Foreign manufacturers must undergo testing, quality assessment, and compliance verification to receive this certification.
Eligibility for FMCS BIS Certification
- Manufacturing unit must be outside India.
- Compliance with applicable Indian Standards (ISS).
- Availability of manufacturing machinery and testing facilities.
- In-house laboratory with quality control personnel.
- Acceptance of BIS Scheme of Inspection & Testing (SIT) and annual marking fee.
- Separate applications required for each product and factory location.
